You are looking at a rare Heuer 980.016 women’s 1000 Series watch. This model is rarely offered for sale. This watch predates the merger of Heuer and TAG. I am a Tag Heuer collector and I own over 225 Tag Heuer watches. I currently have quite a few for sale. It was simply time to clean out the closet. This model is considered a Heuer women’s watch with a case size of 32mm (36mm including the crown). Anything 32mm and larger, I classify as a midsize watch that can be worn by either a man or a woman. It is really all about your preference so please look at the size. I would say it is more suited for a much smaller man or a man who likes smaller faced watches….or a lady who likes larger than normal ladies sized watches. In my opinion, this is better suited for a woman. It is the midsize size that is in-between the true ladies size and the smaller 38mm men’s TAGs. The crystal is in excellent condition with some fine scratches. This model was the 1st model that Heuer gave an orange dial to. The back casing is in very good condition with light wear scratches. The strap is an aftermarket black rubber band. It is in excellent condition with little to no wear. The tang buckle is matte black. The bezel is in excellent condition with fine scratches. The hands & hour markers look excellent. I would rate this true survivor as a solid 9 out of 10 in condition. It is beautiful. The watch will fit up to a size 7.85 inch wrist. The bezel turns & clicks in the counter clockwise direction, as it should. It has always kept perfect time. This model has a quartz movement and it is 200 meters water resistant. New battery just installed and serviced by Tag Heuer dealer. This is quite simply one of the nicest used Heuers on the market. It used to retail for $1495. The serial numbers are engraved on the back of the watch. Buy from someone with a 25 year history of selling authentic Tag Heuers, like myself. Please see all of my other Tag Heuers for sale.
