Warm greetings from Japan. Thank you very much for visiting our listing. This is the Gibson Historic Collection ES-355Authentic Nashville-made Faded Cherry. This is the Authentic model, a limited edition made in 2005, of the ES-355, a high-end model in the Gibson semi-acoustic series. The Memphis Factory, which has now been promoted to a custom shop, also produces this model, but this is a high-quality model made with more carefully selected materials. The neck joint is a full-size long tenon deep joint, and it is a complete reissue model that has been carefully crafted even in places that cannot be seen from the outside. The paint and parts have a VOS/light aged finish, and it is in excellent condition with very signs of use since leaving the factory. There is currently an ES-355 Nashville VOS model that is made to order, but this is limited to ebony black. The cherry color is no longer in production, so this is a rare guitar. *Historic certificate, Yamano Musical Instruments instruction manual from the time of purchase, and special cloth are included. A special hard case is also included as a guitar case. At Gibson, all of their so-called boxed products are made in the custom shop, and while the regular ES-355 is usually manufactured at the Memphis factory, this one was made at the Nashville factory. The Nashville Factory-made ES-355 is available in the so-called Keith specification, with no pickguard and a VOS finish, but this is a special order item with a gloss finish and pickguard, making it a rare item that is hard to come by. Of course, vintage instruments are very attractive, but when you consider the price and sound stability, probably Historic Collection releases are a safer choice for live performances. It has elements of what Fender calls a closet classic, making it a sophisticated guitar. Probably it is in very good condition, and there are no any particular issues with the neck, frets, electrical system, etc. when it comes to use, but this is my amateur opinion. This ES-355 is a Bigsby specification, which affects the sound and causes a significant change in distortion compared to a normal guitar with a stop tailpiece, and the ebony fretboard gives it a nice, slightly different sound from the 335. The headstock inlay is also very luxurious, with a split diamond inlay, similar to that found on a Les Paul Custom. Accessories include the instrument store’s , instruction manual, truss rod wrench, and genuine Gibson hard case. This is a masterpiece that is full of character, modified from a Nashville ES-355, pursuing a realistic texture, feel, and usability It has been finished with a look that is full of presence, recreating the scratches and weather checking as if it had been used for a long time, the glossy feel of the finish, and the wear on the parts. Like the Historic Collection, it is produced at the Nashville factory, and is exceptional in terms of its craftsmanship and natural sound. This semi-acoustic guitar made at the Nashville Factory has a superb natural sound, and the body sound that is characteristic of the ES-355 is impressive for its sharp sound that is different from the historic ES-335. The dry, crisp sound is the best, and it’s an R&R guitar that will make you want to play crunchy cutting notes without even thinking about it. A guitar with excellent materials, but with a more realistic sound. This modified model is an exceptional piece in both looks and sound! The ES-355 is equipped with a Bigsby and exudes a luxurious look. The ebony fingerboard produces a different sound than other similar models, such as a harmonic picking touch. Currently, custom shop Memphis-made and historic Nashville-made guitars are sold by VOS and other companies, but the ES-355 being offered this time is the latter historic Nashville-made model, and is also one of the pilot runs that was released in limited quantities when it was first released in 2005. The neck is similar to that of a ’63 ES-335, and is slimmer than the Memphis model, making it easier to play. The gold parts are also aged from the start, giving it a very cool look.
