I have to clear some space on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection. It is hard for me to believe that the B-1B has been in service for over 30 years now. To me, it is a symbol of the Cold War, but it has found new missions and performed them well. This is obviously one of the first B-1Bs delivered and now you can have it in a convenient size for displaying on your desk or shelf. Dragon has created a series of Bones in this scale, so you have your choice of versions to display and all are highly detailed and fully finished diecast collectibles. These are not too hard to find on eBay, but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have this in stock and can reliably ship it to you very quickly. The B-1 Lancer bomber is the US Air Force’s only serving variable-sweep wing aircraft. The futuristic design was conceived to create a long-range, low-level, supersonic penetrator bomber that could deliver nuclear weapons. Built by Rockwell, the B-1B Lancer appeared in 1986, and it has since been converted to carry out conventional bomber missions. Today a total of 67 “Bones” (the name is taken from its designation B-One) remain in service with the USAF. The new Dragon Warbirds model depicts an aircraft from the official Lancer Test Program. As such, it is resplendent in a white coat of paint and with the appropriate test program markings, including the colorful livery on the tail. The die-cast metal fuselage has been mated to plastic injection-molded wings and landing gear. Of interest, the variable-sweep wings are set in their forward-most ‘unswept’ position for low-speed flight or takeoff and landing. The lines and details of this white test B-1B Lancer are accurately replicated, and it comes with its own sleek display stand. Wikipedia and Boeing have pages that provide additional history, great photos and details of the Bone and her mission. This beauty is completely painted, assembled and ready for immediate display. It comes carefully cradled in a perfectly shaped plastic insert packed in a colorful box about 6” x 6” x 2.5”. As you can see from the pictures, the box is in pristine shape and still sealed with tape strips, so I consider it factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains one diecast model of one of the world’s fastest strategic bombers that has been painstakingly painted and finished, along with a sturdy display stand.
